About the Institute연구소 소개
Founded in 2004 to carry forward Dr. David J. Cho’s creative rationales of world missions, and to preserve the record of the non-Western missionary movement for the generations to come. 조동진 박사의 창조적인 세계 선교 이론을 다음 세대에 이어가고, 비서구 선교운동의 기록을 보존하기 위해 2004년 설립되었습니다.
In 2004, a number of Korean mission leaders and disciples of Dr. David J. Cho — an advocate for the missionary movement in the Two-Thirds World since 1960 — gathered to commemorate his 80th birthday. These leaders and disciples, trained under his guidance, decided to establish a missiological institute that would advance his creative rationales of world missions to the coming generation.
To recognize this purpose, the institute was named the David Cho Missiological Institute, and its bylaw was drafted. On November 19, 2004, the board was formed and Dr. Cho was named General Director. Dr. Timothy K. Park, professor at the Fuller School of World Mission, was appointed Executive Director; Dr. Jong Koo Park, CEO of the Pastoral Monthly of Korea, was named Director for Planning and Development of the Institute and the World Mission Museum.
1960년 이래 제3세계(Two-Thirds World) 선교운동을 주창해 온 조동진 박사의 80세 생신을 기념하여, 2004년 다수의 한국 선교 지도자와 그의 제자들이 모였습니다. 그의 지도 아래 훈련받은 이들은, 세계 선교에 관한 그의 창조적 이론을 다음 세대에 이어갈 선교학연구소의 설립을 결의하였습니다.
이 뜻을 기리기 위해 연구소의 이름을 조동진선교학연구소로 정하고 정관을 작성하였습니다. 2004년 11월 19일 이사회가 구성되어 조동진 박사가 총재로 추대되었습니다. 풀러 세계선교대학원 교수인 박기호 박사가 사무총장으로, 월간목회 대표인 박종구 박사가 연구소 및 세계선교박물관의 기획개발이사로 임명되었습니다.
The Operation Board of Directors of the DCMI is the responsible body for deciding, controlling and organizing the institute’s operation and activities, as well as setting the standards for achieving its goals.
DCMI의 운영이사회는 연구소의 운영과 활동을 결정·관리·조직하고, 목표 달성을 위한 기준을 세우는 책임 기구입니다.
The Bible is the perfectly inspired word of God, written accurately without error and preserved to instruct in righteousness, faith and action. This word of God, together with the common confession of the Apostolic faith and the Westminster Confession of Faith, is the foundation of the work of the institute.
성경은 하나님의 완전한 영감으로 기록된 말씀으로서, 오류 없이 정확하게 기록되고 보존되어 의와 믿음과 행함을 가르칩니다. 이 하나님의 말씀과 더불어 사도신경으로 고백되는 공교회의 신앙, 그리고 웨스트민스터 신앙고백이 본 연구소 사역의 토대가 됩니다.
